JON DAVIS //
LEAD PASTOR

I love a good story almost as much as I love telling one. Seeing people discover who they are in Christ and then go and help others do the same is my greatest motivator.

God placed in my heart a desire to reach the growing population of Katy with the good news of the gospel. So in 2015 this church was born, yet with another name, the Church of Cane Island.

I am married to Amanda my amazing wife of over 20 years and our two children, Gracie and Ethan, are now in college pursuing their degrees and serving at great churches.

My greatest passion is to see transformed lives and families serving others with joy. As well as getting in a kayak and catching some large mouth bass! ;)

Fun fact: In college I was a mascot instructor. I travelled to various colleges teaching high school and college mascots how to ignite a crowd. My kids love to remind me how nerdy it was to wear those tall socks and short shorts. It was the mid 90’s but some memories fade slowly.

ANGELO GONZALEZ //

ASSOCIATE PASTOR & YOUTH DIRECTOR

Have you ever met a jack-of-all-trades? That would be me. Although my background is in communications and marketing, I’ve done it all in the church. Currently, I am responsible for our Kids and Youth Ministries, Communications, and oversee our Worship Ministry.

After serving at the Creekside Community Church as the pastor, we merged with The Church of Cane Island, now Common Ground.

I can’t think of a greater passion or driver in my life than to communicate God’s love to those outside of the church. Exhibiting God’s love outside of the church walls is my greatest motivator in life.

Sarah is my wife of over 17 years and our home is filled with girls: Hayden, Morgan and Camryn.

Fun fact: I'm a big collector of vinyl records and audio cassettes. I love the analog sound!

WORSHIP LEADER

Leading worship isn’t a chore, it is a joy! I do my best to demonstrate that joy each Sunday leading the church in worshipping God.

I have been the lead worship pastor at Common Ground for the past 3 years and it is an honor to serve this church.

While being the worship pastor isn’t my “day job,” it is the absolutely the one I love the most. Worshipping God through song is what I am passionate about, and leading others in that activity is an tremendous blessing. I love to hear the voices of his people as they praise Him.

I have been married for over 20 years to my best friend, Robin. We have been blessed with three beautiful children: Ava, Emerson and Zachry.

Fun fact: I love s’mores. Seriously. I don’t just like them, I love them. There aren’t many things I wouldn’t do for a s’more. Including sleeping on the hard ground.
